Frequently Asked Questions
-
Getting started is simple. We begin with a complimentary discovery call to discuss your goals, your history, and see if my coaching style is the right fit for your needs. If we decide to move forward, we’ll set up your initial assessment and build your personalized roadmap. Feel free to use the Contact section on this website to reach us.

It means we look at how and why you eat, not just what you eat. We use techniques like hunger/fullness awareness, identifying emotional triggers, and "pause" strategies to help you move away from impulsive or restrictive cycles. Grounded in both behavioral science and mind training, it’s about building a conscious, resilient relationship with food that works in the "real world," not just in a perfect environment.
-
Yes. Whether you follow a plant-based, gluten-free, or paleo-style diet, my approach is to help you optimize that framework using whole-foods-based principles. My goal is to make your specific dietary preferences more sustainable and nutritionally complete while ensuring they align with your health and performance goals.

As a PN-1 Certified Nutrition Coach, my focus is on nutrition education and behavioral coaching. I help healthy individuals identify goals, optimize performance, and build sustainable habits using evidence-based strategies. Unlike a Registered Dietitian, I do not provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), clinical meal planning, or treatment for specific medical conditions or eating disorders. Think of it this way: a nutrition coach versus Registered Dietician is like a personal trainer versus a physical therapist. The two complement one another, and play different roles.

Our sessions are conducted via secure video call or, for local clients on a limited basis, in-person. We start by reviewing your progress and any "wins" or challenges from the previous week. From there, we dive into a specific focus area—whether it’s refining your whole-foods plan, adjusting for a specific fitness goal, or navigating a behavioral hurdle. After a final Q&A for anything you’re wondering, you’ll leave every session with clear, actionable "next steps" to focus on until we meet again.

You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.
-
Absolutely! While I am based in Denver, FRNW serves clients nationwide through remote coaching. All sessions and check-ins are handled via our digital platform, making it easy to stay connected and consistent regardless of your time zone.
-
Sustainable change takes time. Most clients find the greatest success with a 3-to-6 month commitment, which allows us to move through various phases of habit building and lifestyle adjustments. However, we offer different package lengths based on your specific needs and where you are in your journey.
-
My "exit strategy" is built into the coaching from day one. By focusing on behavioral skills rather than just a rigid meal plan, you are learning the tools to manage your own nutrition for life. We focus on building "automated" habits so that by the time our coaching concludes, you feel confident navigating social events, travel, and high-stress periods without losing your progress.
-
While my primary method of coaching is virtual, allowing me to work with clients across the country, I do offer limited in-person availability for clients within the Denver area. If you are local to the Front Range and interested in meeting in person, we can discuss this option during your discovery call.
-
Absolutely. In fact, starting with a coach can save you months (or years) of trial and error. We meet you exactly where you are—whether you’re just learning the basics of whole foods or you’ve been "dieting" for years and want a fresh, evidence-based start. No prior nutrition knowledge is required; all you need is a willingness to learn and experiment.
-
No. My philosophy is "food first." While we may occasionally discuss specific supplements if they serve a clear, evidence-based purpose for your goals (such as athletic performance or filling a specific nutritional gap), they are never a requirement of the program. I do not sell supplements, so my recommendations are always unbiased and focused on what you actually need.
-
Not unless you want to. While caloric and macronutrient tracking can be useful tools for some—particularly those with specific performance or body composition goals—they are not a requirement for success at FRNW. We focus on "habit-based" tracking, mindfulness, and portion-control strategies that don't require an app or a scale. If tracking feels stressful to you, we will find a different path that feels sustainable.
